You can ask Merics to delete the personal data we hold about you. This page explains how to make the request, what is deleted, and what we are legally required to keep.
1. How to ask
Choose whichever is easiest:
- By e-mail — write to admin@app.merics.com from the e-mail address registered on your account, with « Data deletion request » as the subject.
- On WhatsApp — send DELETE MY DATA to the Merics WhatsApp number, from the phone number registered on your account.
Please give us your full name and, if you have one, your policy number, so that we can find your records.
2. What happens next
We confirm receipt within a few working days, verify that the request comes from you, and then delete the data we are able to delete. We write back to confirm what was deleted and what had to be kept, and why.
3. What gets deleted
- Your account and your login credentials.
- Quotes and simulations that never became a policy.
- Your WhatsApp, chat and e-mail conversations with us.
- Identity and supporting documents you uploaded, where no policy or claim depends on them.
4. What we have to keep
As a licensed insurance broker, we are required to retain certain records for a period set by law, in particular:
- Policies that were issued, and the claims attached to them.
- Accounting and payment records.
- The identity verification records required by anti-money-laundering rules.
These records are kept for the legal retention period, are no longer used to contact you, and are deleted at the end of it. Data held by the insurance company that issued your policy is governed by that company’s own privacy policy — we will tell you which insurer to contact.
5. Stopping WhatsApp only
If you simply want us to stop messaging you on WhatsApp without deleting your account, reply STOP on WhatsApp. We keep your policy and contact you by e-mail or telephone instead.
